We went to Myriel to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time, and we did the tasting menu. The dedication to local sustainability in farming for both the land and the farmer is impressive. Chef came out to say hello and you can feel the passion she has for her craft. The tasting menu starts off small, but don’t let that discourage you! You’ll be pleasantly stuffed by the end of the experience. They took into consideration my food allergies. It was a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to return and try other menu items.
My partner has been wanting to try Myriel since it opened, and we finally popped in for an a la carte experience last night to celebrate his birthday. We are always on the hunt for fine dining experiences that highlight and celebrate vegetarian cuisine, and we had heard that Myriel was a welcoming place for vegetarians. From the moment we stepped into Myriel we felt valued and taken care of. Our server, Dan, was attentive, funny, and knowledgeable. He took time to provide context about the nuances of each dish, as well as the ethos and values of Myriel as a whole. The restaurant was buzzing with energy the whole time we were there, and we loved the earthy decor and intimate seating. Everyone seemed so happy to be there. Everything we ate and drank was a delight to the senses and our palettes. The lavender lemonade was tart and herbaceous. The chilled tomato soup was savory, bright, fresh, and so satisfying. The corn salad took my breath away. I could’ve eaten a quart of it. We loved eating the lentils, pasta, and rustic bread together as one course. They really complemented one another. We appreciated the attention to detail throughout the meal— in terms of presentation, flavor, and construction. The portions are small because each dish is meant to be savored. Each bite is a treat. Thanks for a great experience!
We enjoyed the paid reservation 3 hour 12 course Chef's Tasting Menu. The kitchen elegantly accommodated one of our parties sensitivity to milk, cream & cheese (butter was fine). The chef/owner spent valuable time talking with us about the mission of Myriel's personal relationships with nearby farmers and the seasonal design philosophy of the menu. The service was perfect. The food was exciting and delicious! The atmosphere was lovely, but loud. Only complaint in an otherwise perfect and special night of extraordinary dining.
We went for their yearly Yuletide dinner. Had some roasted chestnuts and mulled wine outside with the chef before the seating started. All the food was excellent. They are all in on local, farm to table, in house whole animal butchery and use, seasonal ingredients. The staff were knowledgeable, courteous, and always willing to help.
Megan was our server, and she was FANTASTIC!!! Cray was our darling chef 3 and Mark and Micheal kept us comfortable!!! The food was unlike anything I’ve head before! It was my birthday, and they treated me like a king. The food again.... GOD.. unlike anything else in the twincities!!! Myrels, a must stop place! P.s. make a reservation
Magic Myriel? I think so. The entire experience was a joy. We sat outside and they have us blankets (why don't more MN restaurants do this like in Europe?). The cocktails and wine were wonderful. Exceptionally unique and special. Our servers guided us through our choices and coursed them out for us. They even stopped us with one of our menu requests and guided us to a better way to go about it which makes me respect a place even more when they do that. The food was unlike anything I've had around town. Amazing. Get into this place if you can. Everything was perfect. Best dinner experience in a while. And the director Mari is the best. Heard they have a small private dining room. Would be fantastic for one heck of a birthday or anniversary dinner...
The dinner I had at Myriel is one of the best dining experiences of my life so far! This restaurant truly blew me out of the water—from the absolutely incredible food to the exceptional service and wonderful atmosphere. The meal was faultless and I can say with confidence this was the best dining experience I've had to date in the Twin Cities. I would highly (HIGHLY!) recommend Myriel for your next special dinner. I'll start with the food: each dish was perfectly portioned and the flavors were outstanding. They offer both a prix fixe chef's tasting menu which you pay for in advance, as well as a traditional a la carte menu where you order the dishes you'd like during the dinner. We enjoyed the a la carte menu during my visit, but I would love to return to try their tasting menu sometime. Their menu changes frequently as they highlight ingredients from local farmers (which I love!), but some of my absolute favorites from our visit were the grilled oyster mushrooms, duck breast, and the pain perdu for dessert. I say these are my “favorites” but this is perhaps not doing justice to the meal—everything we tried was essentially perfect, but these were the dishes that genuinely made me emotional to eat them because they were so good. I have never had mushrooms of such a perfect texture and flavor, and that was by far the best duck breast I've ever had in my life. Along with our meal, we tried several of their drink offerings. These were also magnificent. My partner ordered the “deborah” which was possibly my favorite cocktail, but I also really enjoyed the “hazel” I ordered—both drinks were so unique and the quality of the ingredients really shone through. On recommendation of my server, I tried one of the fortified wines to pair with my dessert and this was also amazing. It was a great recommendation and paired very well, which leads me to my next point... The service here was completely outstanding! By far it is some of the best service I've ever had. Our waitress was so kind, and so helpful to recommend different dishes or drinks. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and restaurant as a whole. She provided several recommendations for a drink pairing with my dessert, and knew so much about each wine, which was amazing because I know virtually nothing about wine. Plus, when she learned it was my birthday dinner, she brought out a special dessert with a candle which was so nice! Incredibly, I was also given a birthday card that was signed by the staff—I’ve never received anything like this at another restaurant and it truly made me feel special. I felt really cared for by the whole staff. In fact, the chef owner also stopped by our table toward the end of our meal and introduced herself. She was so cool and knowledgeable and it was really awesome to get to meet her! If you've made it this far into my review, you are a legend! This is probably my most long-winded review, but Myriel really deserves all the praise I can give it. I should mention that the ambiance was lovely as well—the space was cozy and beautifully decorated, with dried wildflowers hanging from the ceiling—however, at this point, I fear I've already written an entire essay about this restaurant. But it really was that good and if you love food, you'll love Myriel! I can't wait until I get another opportunity to dine here.
We have enjoyed Myriel on several occasions. Our friend invited us for dinner in the private dining room. It is a beautiful room, and each course was thoughtfully prepared. It is always a special experience. Chef Karyn and her staff provide amazing hospitality. The menu changed often as Chef Karyn sources from local farmers.
